2 slices of Koepplinger’s Cracked Whole Grains bread
1 tablespoon honey mustard
Imported Switzerland Swiss Cheese
4 slices Bold BourbonRidge Uncured Smoked Ham
1 Large egg, beaten (1 egg for every sandwich made)
1 tablespoon Half & Half
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter
Icing Sugar, dusted (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Spread honey mustard on one side of each slice of bread. Layer 1 slice of bread with half of the cheese, ham, and then remaining cheese. Cap with remaining slice of bread.
In shallow bowl, whisk together egg, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Soak sandwich in egg mixture for 20 to 30 seconds or until saturated. Melt the butter in large nonstick skillet set over medium heat.
Place sandwich in pan and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, flipping once until bread is golden brown.
Warm sandwiches in 350°F oven until cheese is melted and sandwiches have puffed up. Cut each sandwich in half. Dust lightly with icing sugar (if desired).
