Savory French-Toasted Mozzarella Bacon Sandwich



  • 8 slices of Koepplinger’s Cracked Whole Grains bread

  • 4 large eggs

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 8 slices of bacon, fried or baked

  • 4 big slices of fresh mozzarella

  • Cracked pepper (if desired)


  1. Whisk eggs, milk, and salt in a large, shallow dish to create egg wash.

  2. Soak slices of bread into the egg wash. Set aside on a plate.

  3. Put one mozzarella slice and two slices fried bacon in between two bread slices. Repeat this for remaining slices.

  4. Heat a skillet on medium heat, then melt butter. Cook the sandwiches, until golden brown on both sides, roughly 3-4 minutes each side. Note: you may need to press on the sandwich slightly as it cooks. Serve immediately.
